the neuse

like most regular guys, you play when you can and when you say you will...weather does not compramise your play...so when the weatherman said it was going to be triple digits on Friday, nobody batted an eye, we just showed up and played.

now one would think that with the temps being so high the course would be in average condition, but no, the good folks at the neuse were right on point. greens were a bit slow but hey it was over 100 degrees, fairways were in good condition and it was a great day.

the foursome was made up of the marine, the air force guy, the concrete man and myself. the concrete man has the lowest handicap and although he struggled at times, he still whipped up on all of us, being the big winner of the day.

i did learn one valuable lesson on friday...alchol and high temps dont really go well together...by the end of the day i felt like i had dug about a mile of ditch instead of just playing 18!

i had the chicken salad from the clubhouse, homemade and pretty darn good. when your chicken salad samwhich is about 4" tall you know your in for a good lunch! the folks at the club were all really nice and are keeping the course in great condition...looking forward to a return visit.

so if the 100+ temps were not enough on friday, i drive to siler city to play in a cga event on saturday with the temps again pushing the mercury above the 100 mark...you will not want to miss the review on this tournament and course, but until then don't forget to golf your balls.
